Award to Friends of the Lines of Torres Vedras

It is with great pleasure that we announce that the work of the Friends of the Lines of Torres Vedras has been recognised in Portugal.  The following letter has been received:


Dear Mr. Dismore,
The Lines of Torres Vedras National Day takes place on 20th October. On that day the Rota Histórica das Linhas de Torres will launch the first edition of the Wellington Honour prizes. 
It has therefore great pleasure in awarding the Prize for the Promotion of the Lines category of this historical heritage to the Friends of the Lines of Torres Vedras.

Unfortunately, we have had to cancel our next talk where Dr Jacqueline Reiter was going to talk about the Military service of Royal Navy Captain Sir Home Popham.
We are building a programme of talks for 2021-22 and will restart the series in the autumn.
